Results of anti-corruption work summarized at Kazan Kremlin

Speaking at the session, Tatarstan President noted that a large amount of work aimed at economic growth and increase of investment attractiveness, including anti-corruption measures, was done last year. Among main activities Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out introduction of electronic document management system, development of state social services, electronic public administration system, - information resource “Electronic Tatarstan”.

A research and practice conference was held at the beginning of the year to exchange experience in organisation of anti-corruption work among specialists and scientists from 33 Russian regions and foreign countries. The idea was supported by Tatarstan President and Institute of legislation and comparative legal studies under Russian Government.

Chairman of the Federation Council V.I.Matvienko took part in the event. She noted successful experience of Tatarstan in the sphere of anti-corruption activity. As a result, some changes were made in normative and legal regulation by the federal centre, including creation of Anti-corruption Department within Russian Presidential Administration.

By and large, 200 events were held last year with participation of mass media agencies, representatives of religious associations, universities, Public Chamber, and Tatarstan President’s Administrative Office to involve the public into anti-corruption activity.

Public reception on anti-corruption issues was established under Tatarstan Public Chamber. With the governmental support public youth organisations intensified anti-corruption activity. Student anti-corruption commissions are being established at higher educational institutions.

Disciplinary actions were taken against heads of some ministries and agencies for inefficient work on using budget funds and coordination activities in supervised issues that influenced realization of state anti-corruption policy.

Major work was carried out on helping self-government bodies to organize anti-corruption work.

However, in spite of all taken measures, the situation is slowly changing, and corruption risks are still observed in activity of executive authorities.
